Nigel Ross joined as Business Development Director from Wood Group GTS where he was global key account director and Maggie Leitch was appointed Director - Technical Safety & Risk (TSR) from PSN.

Xodus Group secures USD 1 million worth of contracts in Gulf of Mexico

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has secured more than USD 1 million of contracts in the Gulf of Mexico since it opened its office in Houston in February. The company's recruitment drive continues and it has invested USD 2 million in a move to new larger premises in Richmond Avenue in the city's energy corridor. The firm now has 20 people in place and aims to have 40 by the end of 2012 and increase this to 80 within the first three years.

Xodus Group launches Hague office offering global integrated subsurface capability

Energy consultancy Xodus Group has launched a £5 million office in The Hague bringing a truly integrated subsurface and surface capability to the global oil and gas industry. A number of key appointments have been made and Xodus aims to have 20 people operating from The Hague by the end of the year. Colin Manson, CEO of Xodus Group said the move was in direct response to a demand from operators for a consultancy offering the first integrated subsurface and surface service.

Production chemistry expert joins Xodus subsurface team

Energy consultancy Xodus Group is keeping one step ahead in the industry by offering an in-house production chemistry capability to clients. Senior Consultant Carolyn Hare has joined the Xodus Group Aberdeen office, bringing a broad operational petrochemical background to the Wells & Subsurface division. Carolyn specialises in upstream chemistry with over 13 years experience in offshore and onshore chemical management systems, designing and managing injection facilities and in other areas of chemical treatment problem-solving.

​ Xodus Group secures £10 million investment to fast-track growth

Energy consultancy Xodus Group has signed a £10 million investment deal to focus on further growth in the UK and internationally. The major cash boost from Dutch based Sunrise Energy Group and Simmons Parallel Energy Fund signals a period of significant expansion. Xodus, which was launched by chief executive Colin Manson and chief operating officer Stephen Swindell in 2005, has grown into the leading independent, integrated consultancy for oil, gas and renewables with more than 330 people employed across the UK and in Houston. The investment will enable Xodus to reach its target of growing to 500 staff by 2012 and 900 by 2015.

Xodus Group to carry out environmental study for Statoil for potential floating offshore wind pilot park

Aberdeen headquartered energy consultancy Xodus Group today announced that it will plan and carry out an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for Statoil for a potential pilot park for the world's first full-scale floating wind turbine. Xodus made the announcement at the All Energy conference in Aberdeen and First Minister Alex Salmond welcomed the news. The Hywind turbine is based on the Hywind Demo prototype, which has been successfully tested by Statoil in Norway for over a year. An area off the North-east coast of Scotland will be assessed as a potential candidate for a possible first pilot park of up to five units, generating renewable electricity offshore.

Xodus Group announces arrival in Africa - Nigeria joint venture will pursue robust growth strategy in Oil & Gas

International energy consultancy Xodus Group today joined forces with Nigerian company Mos Baker to launch a brand new operation in Lagos called XMOS. XMOS brings integrated field development and front end services to the African oil and gas markets with an initial focus on three divisions, process and facilities, flow assurance and subsea engineering. Ultimately the full suite of Xodus services will be rolled out which will add technical safety, environmental and subsurface capabilities.

Xodus Group continues expansion with major renewables acquisition

Fast growing engineering consultancy Xodus Group is bolstering its impressive renewables credentials by acquiring an industry leading specialist consultancy. Xodus has acquired Anglesey based James Ingram & Associates for an undisclosed sum, bringing a powerhouse of offshore wind, wave and tidal experience into the fold. The move comes as Xodus launches its new Low Carbon business stream, which is positioned equal to Oil and Gas and integrated into all six divisions. James Ingram will join Xodus as Head of Low Carbon and his team will also be transferred into the Group.

Good vibrations - Xodus Group launches new vibration dynamics service

Engineering consultancy Xodus Group is investing over £600,000 launching a new service offering leading expertise in vibration measurement and analysis to help identify at-risk assets and piping onshore and offshore. Aberdeen headquartered Xodus has initially recruited a team of seven specialists in the field of structural dynamics and plans to open a new office in Southampton's Science Park by the end of April with plans to increase the team to 20 by the end of the year.

Ythan Challenge strikes three year sponsorship deal with Xodus Group

A well established sporting event held in Ellon each year has received a major financial boost by securing a three year sponsorship deal. Xodus Group, an Aberdeen based energy consultancy is donating £6,000 that will secure the future of the Ythan Challenge until the end of 2013. The event, which takes place on Sunday June 26, has been re-named the Xodus Ythan Challenge in recognition of the company's commitment to one of the region's most popular sporting events. Attracting hundreds of entrants every year the Xodus Ythan Challenge is a multi-terrain adventure race that covers approximately 11 kilometres of beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside.

Xodus Group wins contract for Inner Sound tidal project

Energy consultancy Xodus Group has been awarded the contract to deliver an important environmental study for a major tidal project in the Pentland Firth. Xodus will co-ordinate the environmental impact assessment for MeyGen Ltd, a standalone development company backed by shareholders, investment bank Morgan Stanley, independent power generator International Power plc and technology provider, Atlantis Resources Corporation.

Energy consultancy Xodus Group is setting up a Houston operation with plans for major international growth. The independent Aberdeen-headquartered company is bringing its fully integrated field development services to the States and is confident that its approach will be a success. Matt Kirk has been promoted from Senior Consultant to Americas Regional Director and Lawrence Lambon, Integration Technology Manager is taking up the post of Houston Operations Director.

We are joining forces with a local company Mos-Baker to bring our integrated service capabilities to West Africa where we believe there will be significant opportunities. The joint venture will be called XMOS (pronounced ex-moss) and will officially launch in March 2011. The market in Nigeria is expected to be very active over the coming years, particularly with deepwater developments and we believe our technical capabilities are ideally suited to this region.
