Xodus to support Mutual Energy in maximising integrity of energy connections between Scotland and Northern Ireland

Independent, international energy consultancy Xodus Group has agreed a four-year Consultancy Support Framework Agreement to provide marine services for Interconnector Services Limited (ISL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mutual Energy.

Xodus will manage the procurement of a survey contractor in order to perform survey investigations on the power cable and pipeline networks connecting Scotland and Northern Ireland. The aim is to assess and maximise the asset integrity of the two systems and refine inspection techniques and emergency response procedures as appropriate and dependent upon survey findings.

Xodus and SMRU Marine investigation helps the UK offshore wind farm industry to reduce the effects of noise and prevent harm to marine mammals

Report welcomed by Energy Minister Michael Fallon - A report published by independent, international energy consultancy Xodus Group, and its project partners SMRU Marine, recommends how offshore wind farm operators and regulators can minimise the effects of noise during offshore turbine piling and reduce injury to marine mammals.

The independent review, entitled ‘Use of Deterrent Devices and Improvements to Standard Mitigation during Piling’ was commissioned for Phase 1 of Project 4 of the Offshore Renewables Joint Industry Programme (ORJIP). It is the first publication in the ORJIP series to focus on such risks and has been published on the Carbon Trust’s ORJIP website.

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has appointed former Scottish rugby captain Jason White as a Business Performance Coach.

Jason was first introduced to Xodus CEO Colin Manson six years ago when he was looking to work with a rugby player who could help raise the profile of Xodus. Jason joined as a sporting ambassador and his business relationship with the company has developed from there.

Xodus celebrates development consent for the MeyGen tidal energy project in the Pentland Firth

Independent, international energy consultancy Xodus Group is delighted to hear the announcement of consent for Europe’s largest tidal energy project in the Pentland Firth at the Scottish Renewables Marine Energy Conference.

As lead consultant in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the 86MW Phase 1 MeyGen tidal energy project, Xodus played a pivotal role in the creation of the Environmental Statement (ES). The EIA considered the possible positive or negative impacts of the project on the local environment as well as potential social and economic aspects. The ES represented the culmination of four years’ of consultation, surveys and assessment, with the offshore and onshore applications submitted to the Scottish Government and The Highland Council in July 2012.

Xodus Group to receive major equity investment from Chiyoda Corporation to pursue global growth opportunities in the upstream oil and gas industry

International energy consultancy Xodus Group, has agreed terms for a major new injection of equity from funds sponsored by Chiyoda Corporation (Chiyoda, Head Office: Yokohama, Japan, President & CEO: Shogo Shibuya), an integrated engineering contractor specialising in the onshore middle/downstream sector of the oil and gas industry.

Chiyoda acquired majority shares in Xodus Group from the previous investors, Simmons Parallel Private L.P. and Sunrise Xodus B.V. The financial figures relating to this deal cannot be disclosed.

Xodus awarded contract to investigate the use of deterrent devices and improvements to standard mitigation measures for noise impacts on marine mammals during offshore wind farm construction

International energy consultancy Xodus Group will be lead consultant to review and make recommendations on the use of acoustic deterrent devices and the mitigation of potential underwater noise impacts arising from pile driving during offshore wind farm construction.

As part of a programme of work to be carried out through the Offshore Renewables Joint Industry Programme (ORJIP), and in collaboration with project partners SMRU Ltd, Xodus Group has been awarded the contract for Phase 1 of the ORJIP Project 4.

Xodus Wins the Heart of Valentine

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has secured two contracts from Abu Dhabi based Valentine Maritime (Gulf) L.L.C.

The first project is for the design of new subsea pipelines in the Arabian Gulf. This will be the Xodus Group’s first subsea project from its rapidly growing team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project is located off the north east coast of Qatar in the Gulf and lies in the largest gas field in the world.

Xodus Catches Premier Contract

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has secured a contract worth £1.3 million to deliver the subsea Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study for the Premier Oil Catcher project in the Central North Sea.

The scope of work will involve two phases. A review of previous and current studies, preliminary process flow diagrams and investigative work to identify structural functional requirements, will lay the foundations for the subsequent select phase.
