YOU HAVEN’T BEEN AT XODUS LONG, WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO JOIN?

The people and the mission of Xodus drove my decision to join the team. I had worked with several team members on a past project and I enjoyed their collaborative attitudes. The team here is committed to creatively engaging with the OSW industry to make sure the US market develops in a sustainable and inclusive way as we all aim to achieve 30GW by 2030.

HOW DOES THIS ROLE SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDUSTRY?

The role of Lead Renewables Consultant supports the development of OSW by providing pathways for innovation and collaboration between key leaders of the global industry. Whether networking with industry experts, researching future technologies, advising on best practices, or facilitating diverse initiatives, Xodus is building relationships that drive the industry forward.

WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING PROJECT YOU HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN WHILE AT XODUS?

I am currently working on an initiative called Prospects which is a partnership between Xodus and Browning the Green Space. This program supports the diversification of the OSW industry by engaging priority groups of young people identified by the organizations to have been underrepresented in the workforce. Prospects works with students to educate them on various roles within the OSW industry and support their interest in these careeer paths. The program also builds relationships with private OSW companies in Massachusetts to help them diversify their teams and offer internships and training to the next generation of the workforce. This type of work is what will help us all to build a purposeful and inclusive OSW industry.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR OFFSHORE WIND IN THE US?

I believe the US market has significant opportunity to lead in floating offshore wind. I am excited to see how these technologies evolve and how obstacles are overcome to develop floating wind farms. My home state of Maine is already leading the way with the New England Aqua Ventus project for example and there is so much potential in California. It’s also exciting to see how innovative and collaborative people can be across academia, environment, fisheries, supply chain, etc to find sustainable solutions and create brand new technologies for this space.
